In December of 2011, Lauren was a publicist with Sundance Film Festival and Lee’s latest film had just been accepted. Lee’s movie was assigned to Lauren, along with 22 others, but she thought this one was special (because the Director was so swoon-worthy). Lee and Lauren met in Park City in January 2012 and were both smitten. After the festival, separately Lauren and Lee traveled and worked, and despite a fury of attempts on both ends, they wouldn’t see each other for another 6 months.

Both fed up with all the near misses, Lee asked Lauren to be his publicist for the theatrical release of his film. For a month and a half prior, they would speak on the phone twice a day. In the mornings about business, in the evenings about everything else. In late July 2012 Lauren flew to Rhode Island to meet Lee at his family’s home. Two days later they took the train to New York for Lee’s film release. One week later Lee flew to Charleston to meet Lauren’s parents. And a week after that, Lauren moved into Lee’s apartment in Los Angeles. It was fast and furious. The craziest part is that it actually stuck.
